The following materials are resources for educators to help students prepare for the ShakeOut drill on November 13. The lesson plans and activities are organized by grade but they can be adapted for most grade levels.

Resources for Colleges and Universities
The following resources (that could be adapted for high school students) have been created by Sally McGill of California State University, San Bernardino, and Lisa Grant Ludwig of the University of California, Irvine, as classroom exercises for College and University students. These assignments ask students to read and respond to the report: The ShakeOut Earthquake Scenario—A Story That Southern Californians Are Writing, U.S.Geological Survey, Circular 1324, while taking into consideration their own personal circumstances and the environment that they would be surrounded with in the event of an actual earthquake.
