What Scouting Groups Can Do

We're all in this together-- the more you do to prepare now, before a big earthquake, the better all our lives will be after. And with your participation, ShakeOut will be the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history!

We are happy to be working with Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders to encourage scouting troops to participate in the ShakeOut, and to help promote their families, schools, and communities being involved in the ShakeOut and getting prepared for big earthquakes

ShakeOut Scouting Patches:

ShakeOut Participant Patches are available to all scouts that register and participate in the ShakeOut earthquake drill on November 13th. Scouting groups may order patches for $0.75 each for their scouts. Also, for every 10 or 50 people your Scouting group registers we will give you one free patch. (Scouting groups in elementary school need 10 registrants per free patch, and scouting groups middle school level and above will need 50.) Registrants may be friends and family, or employees at businesses, schools, churches, etc. To register individuals and organizations print out the Paper Registration Form and have them fill it out and return to you.

After the ShakeOut, complete the Patch Order-Form, and submit with completed registration forms by November 25th and a check payable to "University of Southern California" to the address on the Patch Order-Form. Once we verify your registrations, we mail the patches to you.

See this page for what to do if you have a disability or an activity limitation.
