Full Description:
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee will Drop, Cover and Hold On with Bret Harte Elementary students during the Great California ShakeOut. Mayor Lee also will be talking about the importance of having an earthquake plan prepared at home with their families. Each year, SFUSD teams up with the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management to practice the drill districtwide. This year, Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White, Police Chief Toney Chaplin, and SF Board of Education will be on hand to practice as well. San Francisco’s public school students have been taking part in this statewide emergency exercise since it began in 2008.
