Today at 10:20 we will participate in the Great Central #ShakeOut to prepare for earthquake safety. We want to ensure that everyone knows the drill in case of an emergency.DROP/COVER/&HOLD!

Shake Out

October 20, 2016, 10:20 - 10:30 am, Drill at Yazoo County Middle School

Students and staff participated in an earthquake drill at 10:20 a.m. in which the announcement, "Duck, Cover, and Hold" was announced.
Security and administrators monitored the activity until all was cleared.

Preschool children learning about Earthquakes

The teacher is going to read a story Elmo and the Earthquake. It is for preschool because it has Seasame Street people. I also have a song called Earthquake.

Earthquake Public Forum

October 17, 2013, 1:30 - 4:30 pm, Community Event at Michael D. Rose Theater

the Central U.S. Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC), in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and several local, national, and international disaster experts, will host a free public forum, Building Resiliency in the Face of the Earthquake Risk, from 1:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. at the Michael D. Rose Theatre on the University of Memphis main campus. The forum is a linked event to the “ShakeOut”, a national earthquake drill where more than 43 states and territories and 15 million people will practice earthquake safety procedures at 10:17a.m. on October 17.

WalMart ShakeOut Press Conference - Open to the Media

February 7, 2012, 9 am, News conference at WalMart Supercenter

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and its local, federal and private sector partners in the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut will hold a media opportunity on the morning of February 7, 2012 in Memphis, TN.

Media will have an opportunity for individual interviews with TEMA, FEMA, Walmart and CUSEC representatives, but all video b-roll must conclude prior to the actual drill at 10:15 a.m.
