The ShakeOut Drill Broadcast

To accompany your drill, audio and video recordings are provided below for download or viewing on YouTube. Each provide instructions for how to Drop, Cover, Hold On, and are accompanied by earthquake sound effects. Also included are versions without sound effects, and the sound effects alone with no narration.

Using these resources is not required, but may make your drill more interesting and educational.

Radio and TV stations that will broadcast these recordings at 10:20 a.m. on October 20, 2011.

MP3 files are suitable for playing on your computer, and over PA systems.

  • Download now and test before playing at 10:20 a.m. on October 20.
  • Please do not play the files directly from this website at drill time.
  • For best performance, listen to the recording through external speakers (there is a rumble sound that may not be heard through most internal computer speakers)
