Full Description:
The Valley Economic Alliance would like to invite you to our greatly anticipated “The Valley of the Stars-Reaching New Heights” event, commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Northridge Earthquake at California State University, Northridge on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We will be celebrating the outstanding economic growth and countless new achievements which have taken place since the earthquake and recognize several remarkable heroes whose exceptional courage helped thousands of citizens on that devastating day.
 
Registration is now open for free preparedness workshops and booth networking to take advantage of in the morning in CSUN’s Plaza Del Sol. Workshop descriptions and time to come. Following by an awards luncheon and reception at noon in the Northridge Room. Tickets and reservations can be made with attached registration form.  

During the awards reception we will award and recognize “The Magnificent 7” which includes;  President Bill Clinton (attendance pending), former Councilman Hal Bernson, former Mayor of Los Angeles Richard Riordan, former California Governor Pete Wilson, former President of CSUN, Los Angeles Fire Department, Jim Dellinger, Retired Public Safety Field Deputy at City of Los Angeles, Council District 12  and Catherine Dellinger, Nurse, Labor and Delivery Department, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center. As well as four businesses who suffered devastation from the 1994 earthquake but persevered and endured in the San Fernando Valley: 3M Northridge, General Growth Properties, CSUN, and Aerojet.
