Margo Ivey On 10/16/2014 at 1016am an Earthquake Drill was announced over our PA system. It was announced several times and our staff as well as our patients participated in the Drop, Cover and Hold On scenerio. We had volunteers here passing out the flyers and other earthquake information to our patients that were here in the building. We even had a gentleman in a wheelchair here to demonstrate what he should do! We also had 2 members of the Amateur Radio operators club and participated in notifying the state officials of our situation and got responses back to our questions. In addition we also practiced our telephone disaster phone tree plan that we would use for any type of disaster. Of the 11 limbs of our tree only one did not get the message through. So we felt like that was successful too. This was our 3rd year participating in the drill. We learned alot and had some fun too. It's amazing what things you might find on the floor under your desk! |
