Beyond the ShakeOut Drill: For Individuals

Beyond the ShakeOut Drill

For Individuals

Practice the ShakeOut Drill

Encourage your workplace or school to participate in the
ShakeOut Drill by registering today. If you aren’t working that day, you can drop, cover and hold on at home with your family. See how at earthquakecountry.info/dropcoverholdon.

Make or Review a Plan

A family earthquake plan includes how to communicate and reunite after the earthquake as well as knowing basic steps to safety, such as the location of the gas cut off valve. Find out how to make an earthquake preparedness plan at earthquakecountry.info.

Mitigate Your Risk

Is your home up to modern building codes? Could a bookcase fall on your child’s bed or block an exit? Ensure that your home and family are earthquake ready by reading the tips and suggestions on daretoprepare.org.

Contribute to the ShakeOut

You can make a difference—volunteer for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training or your Neighborhood Watch. Attend ShakeOut events held
November 12-16.
