On October 15, 2009, millions of Californians will participate in a statewide drop, cover, and hold on drill -- the largest earthquake preparedness activity in United States history! ShakeOut. Don't FreakOut.
You can now register for the 2009 Shakeout, along with your neighbors, schools, businesses, organizations, firefighters, government agencies, and many others, by completing one of our forms at right.
You should register if:
- You understand that if you act now you can greatly improve your safety and reduce earthquake losses.
- You see the ShakeOut as time for getting yourself and others prepared and to practice drop, cover, and hold on.
- You were invited to register by someone you know, and you want to participate with them.
- You are excited that so many people are working together to prepare California, and you want to do your part!
As a registered ShakeOut participant you will:
- Be counted in the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history!
- Be notified of ShakeOut news and updates
- Set an example that motivates others to get prepared
- Practice what to do when earthquakes happen: drop, cover, and hold on.
