Stories From The Great ShakeOut

Heather Flett
(Founder - Rookie Moms)

I had done some pre-planning for disaster preparedness so I was lucky.

I dropped to my knees and covered my head away from any windows. Once the imaginary shaking stopped, I walked to my home office to grab the emergency prep kit, walked through the kitchen to grab a jar of peanut butter, and headed back to the living room to gather my laptop and cords.

Depending on what I found outside (it looked all clear since this was a drill), I would have put on shoes, grabbed my purse, and walked to one of our designated meeting points.

Since it was just a drill, I made some coffee and returned to working from home.
