Stories From The Great ShakeOut

Sandra Whisler
(Director of Finance and Operations - Public Health Law and Policy)

We inventoried the supplies in our go bags, updated our earthquake cache, and made a list of additional supplies we needed, which we are not costing out. We held our drill today, Oct. 19, to coincide with our monthly staff mtg. We particpated in a Drop/shelter/hold exercise with a raffle ticket and a "how dangerous is your office" questionnaire affixed under each desk.
We had a good discussion at the staff mtg, including additional problem solving and education. We awarded prizes for the raffle drawing and for the longest list of earthquake hazards in one office. We collected the lists of hazards for further remediation efforts.

Good exercise, fun, lots of teamwork and awareness. Thanks for the chance to participate.
