Media are invited to join us at Science World where we will be hosting the main event for ShakeOutBC 2017! Attendees will get to practice their “Drop, Cover and Hold On” as part of the world’s largest earthquake drill and learn about Seismic and Tsunami Science from leading experts.

Science World will be hosting the main event for ShakeOutBC 2017 Presented by the Insurance Bureau of Canada! Attendees will get to practice their “Drop, Cover and Hold On” as part of the world’s largest earthquake drill and learn about Seismic and Tsunami Science from leading experts along with these awesome activities:

  • Want to know what an 8.0 earthquake would feel like? Experience it for yourself in the “Shake Zone” portable earthquake simulator.
  • Check out seismic related table activities including experiments with liquefaction and building challenges.
  • Learn how to prepare your home and family with the team from PreparedBC.
