The Great Southern California ShakeOut

November 12–16, 2008

Imagine 21 million Southern Californians crawling under their desks at the exact same moment to drop, cover and hold on. Is it one of the major earthquakes that we’re preparing for? No—but it could be.

On November 13, join students, businesses, organizations, firefighters, police officers and emergency respoders in the country’s largest-ever earthquake preparedness exercise—the ShakeOut Drill.

Register today for the ShakeOut Drill, or tell us what activities you are planning for ShakeOut.

Registration is free.

As a registered shakeout participant you will:

  • Be notified of ShakeOut news and updates
  • Get connected with other participants
  • Create your own preparedness network of family, friends and coworkers
  • Set an example that motivates others to get prepared
  • Create and share your personal ShakeOut activities and stories

What is your earthquake experience?

How has being in an earthquake impacted your life and the lives of those around you?

How has ShakeOut changed your thinking or actions?

Are you taking one more step toward preparedness?

We want to hear your story.
